ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
Melbourne Fashion Festival Ltd. is an independent not-for-profit organisation that over the last 30 years has evolved to become the largest and most loved consumer fashion major event in Australia. We exist for the purpose of developing, supporting and showcasing local and emerging fashion talent and delivering growth to the entire Australian fashion industry.
We established the Melbourne Fashion Festival (MFF) Foundation to maximise the immediate and long-term value the Festival can provide to the local industry by supporting emerging designers now. It’s the first Australian charitable foundation of its kind dedicated to supporting early career fashion designers.

AREAS OF SUPPORT
The Festival’s Talent Development Programme has been identified as the area most critical to receive funding from the MFF Foundation.
The Talent Development Programme includes four initiatives aimed at supporting early career designers and creatives: National Graduate Showcase, National Designer Award, Fashion Film Awards, Fashion Writing Mentorship.
Emerging fashion designers and creative talent face significant challenges early in their careers, trying to strike the balance between creativity and business with limited budgets and resources in an increasingly tough retail environment.
Through the Talent Development Programme, the Festival delivers tangible industry mentorship, education, networking, retail opportunities, exposure and acknowledgement to the next generation of fashion talent – supporting emerging designers from their education, post-grad and early stages of business to help them survive and thrive within the industry.
